Main Season 2019/2020
You will be guided in, a variety of both hatha, vinyasa, yin and restorative yoga. The agenda of the course to have an one hour and a 20 minute break, every week, from a stressful everyday life. Your only focus is on yourself and your body's signals. In this way you will gain greater awareness of both yourself and your body. You have the opportunity to give the nervous system tranquility that may create peace of mind.
The class starts with flow sequences from vinyasa yoga, with focus on synchronization of breathing and movement, as well as balance. This will be followed by classic breathing exercises (pranayama) that can be found in hatha yoga, as well as various positions (asanas) practiced as in yin yoga.
The class will have a natural calm ending, for example with different restorative positions that will calm the nervous system and the body in general, and a relaxation so you will leave the class with peace of mind.
In practice, you will work your whole body both through stretching of muscles, tendons and connective tissue, as well as strength of the entire body including focus on core (body posture), shoulders and hip. We also focus on the spine, both through twist, movement and strength, which can help back pain associated with many sedentary hours.
Focus is on creating body awareness optimizing posture and breathing. There will be different themes in the class, including introductions to mindfulness, meditation, breathing exercise and specific physical exercises easily included in your daily life.
