Main Season 2020/21
Taekwon-do
Taekwon-Do is the Korean martial art based on scientific principles for generating maximum power, teaching us how to effectively defend ourselves. Classes will test and develop your physical fitness, flexibility, and mental strength. The class culture is one of mutual respect, support, and encouragement between participants. Most importantly, training is fun.
Class instructor is Nikolaj Møller, a 1st Degree black belt with the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF) which is located in Vienna, Austria. Though Nikolaj today lives in Copenhagen, he began practicing Taekwon-Do in 2011 in the United Kingdom, where he won the 2013 British National Championships for his grade level.
“I started Taekwon-Do in my first month at university and trained throughout my studies. While I often had mixed feelings about university life, Taekwon-Do always just felt good. Training always made me feel healthier, happier, and more clear-headed. I have no doubt Taekwon-Do improved my academic studies,” Nikolaj Møller.
Taekwon-Do is for anyone, no matter their abilities. These classes might be just the activity you are looking for if you want to:
-
Learn effective self-defence
-
Become physically and mentally fitter
-
Meet and make friends with like-minded people
-
Build self-confidence
A global martial art
This class teaches Taekwon-Do, which is well-established and has practitioners worldwide. If you move to another country, there is likely a club teaching genuine Taekwon-Do where you’re going. We are always happy to offer advice and help with this. Taekwon-Do was founded by General Choi Hong Hi (1918 – 2002) in 1955, and the focus of the sport has since been honing Taekwon-Do according to the science of bodymechanics, teaching us to defend ourselves with maximum power.
“Stronger is the person who wins over themselves rather than someone else.”
